County news update
Highways are planning to surface dress roads in our area shortly. Surface dressing can extend the life of a road by up to 10 years. It seals the surface preventing water ingress and improves skid resistance. It is a relatively quick treatment and causes less disruption to the travelling public than other maintenance treatments.
Below is a list of roads they are planning to surface dress in the next 2 weeks along with an indicative start date. Please be aware that dates can change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Cars must be parked elsewhere between 07:30-18:00 while works are on-going. Highways also ask that road users drive slowly through the site respecting any temporary speed limits.
Highways will sweep the road within 24 hours of the surface dressing taking place and again after 7 days and 13 weeks. Lines and road studs will be replaced as soon as practicable.
